My in-laws have been going to Forest Rock Resort since the 1950's, although my first visit was about 20 years ago when my oldest son was just a Baby. We loved it! We tried a couple different places in the area over the years but always end up back at Forest Rock. The sandy beach is fabulous, clean water for swimming or fishing. The owners always have activities most days and nights for both the kids and adults. Fireworks and beach bon fires are always a favorite. Now that my children are older my husband and I are now spending long weekends at Forest Rock in addition to our vacation in the summer. It's a reasonable priced, friendly and very beautiful place to spend our vacation.

Our family has been vacationing at Forest Rock since 1986. Back then, we were a family of 3 and though the family has grown and the place has definitely gone through many positive changes, we cannot image going anywhere else. A few years ago we talked about going on a cross country trip, but because we own our own business and holiday time is limited to 2 weeks the kids wouldn't give up their weeks at Forest Rock (we got the same negative response when we talked about building a cottage on the same lake!) The many games and contests on the beach and the horseshoe tournaments over the years have made our holidays memories ones never to be forgotten.

We have made lifelong friend many of which we stay in contact with over the course of the year. As the children get older (they are now 22, 19, & 16) and summer jobs get in the way, they still manage to make it up for a few days, and they talk about how when they have families of their own they want to come to Forest Rock and start their own traditions.

As my husband says the best part of a holiday at Forest Rock is that as soon as you arrive, somebody always has a cold beer ready for you and and you know your holiday has begun.

I have been going to Forest Rock since I was 15 years old. Yes that is 20 years and counting. It is my favourite vacation spot. I like the friendly atmosphere and the people. How many places let 20 cottages full of people have an all out water balloon fight at 4am in the morning?

I have been through 2 different owners of Forest Rock Camp...the first ones were great, the second owners tried to sell it so they could build condos on the land; I was glad they left.....and finally the third and hopefully final owners.....you and Lori....are by far the best owners and have made more happen at this place in the past three years than anybody ever did in all the time I have been coming up here.

In closing, I would and have recommended this place to my friends. Jen and I brought a friend of ours up with us last year....she loved it, and so did her four girls, and her son.
My family starts planning for our Muskoka trip after Christmas holidays....that tells you right there, how dedicated we are to this place.

We would highly recommend Forest Rock Resort. We discovered the resort on the website looking for a place to stay in the Muskoka area for a reasonable price. We stayed in the Hilltop cabin for what was supposed to be a week, but because of car troubles turned into a week and a half. Bart, Lori, Sean and Kelly and the other guests were very friendly and helpful. There is a real family feeling at the resort. Forest Rock was beautiful and there is plenty to do at the resort, from sitting on the beach or around the campfire, watching the sunset, playing horseshoes and volleyball or taking a boat ride around Three Mile Lake.

The store has all of the supplies and groceries that you could need for a week away and Bracebridge is only about 20 minutes away.

We plan to come back for at least one weekend every year. We enjoyed our time there so much that we are planning a wedding on the beach at the resort.

We came across Forest Rock just about 3 years ago and immediately felt welcomed from day 1. We have met so many friendly people and Bart and Lori are great hosts making sure everything is just right.We as a family look forward to returning every year.
